ABOUT
OUR MISSION.

The Summit County Water Rescue Team (SCWRT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
SCWRT operates under the statutory authority of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Our primary objective is to ensure the safety and welfare of individuals in water-related emergencies in Summit County. This includes responding to incidents such as swift water rescue, ice rescue, body and recovery and underwater investigation.
Our mission is to rescue and aid those in distress, prevent further harm, and work in collaboration with other emergency response agencies to mitigate water-related incidents effectively.

In 2010, thanks to a donation from the Adam Brown Memorial Fund, the team procured a side-scan sonar, making it one of only two teams in the state with this capability. The SCWRT is also one of the few in the nation that is experienced in high altitude diving.
OUR TEAM.
SCWRT is based in Frisco, Colorado. Our team is one of the highest elevation water rescue teams in the world, performing missions between 7,000 ft. and 11,140 ft.

Our skilled team is trained in swift-water rescue techniques, boat operations, and other specialized skills to handle challenging and potentially life-threatening situations in and around bodies of water.

We have 11 volunteer members that provide 5,000+ man-hours each year in missions throughout Summit and the surrounding counties. Between 5,000 and 8,000 man hours a year is committed to training for a variety of aquatic responses.
We are 100% volunteer-led and on call 24/7 year round. We serve the community at no cost.
